Morospin — a shot journal that stays on your phone
Last updated 18 September 2026Every number is calculated on your device. Nothing is looked up online.
Your journal never leaves the phone it was written on.
Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log in to, nothing to forget.
Morospin does not collect any personal information. There is no sign-up, no profile held anywhere, and nothing you log is gathered, shared or sold. Every frame and preference is written into storage inside the app on your own device and stays there.
None. The app asks for no personal details. The name, the camera and the sensor format you can set on the shooter screen are labels the app shows back to you — the format also feeds the depth-of-field maths, and nothing else.
To do its job, Morospin writes the following into its own private storage area on your phone:
Daily counts, charts, records and accolades are all worked out from those frames as the screen is drawn. Nothing extra is stored to produce them, and deleting a frame takes its contribution with it.
As a plain text file of one line per change, inside the app's private directory. Logging a frame appends a line; the file is rewritten only when the superseded lines outnumber the live ones. It is readable, repairable and yours.
Only to show you your own journal and to draw your own statistics back to you. What you photograph is never analysed for advertising, never used to build a profile of you, and never shared with anyone.
Morospin requests no runtime permissions at all. It does not ask for your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or notifications. It cannot see your pictures — it only stores the numbers you type about them.
The one system feature it uses is the standard share sheet, and only at the moment you tap Share yourself. What happens to a frame after you hand it to another app is governed by that app's own policy.
The app works entirely offline. It makes no network requests, and it behaves identically in airplane mode as it does with a full signal.
Nothing is shared with anyone. There is no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no attribution tooling. No outside company receives anything about you or your photography.
Your frames are kept for exactly as long as you keep them. Deleting a frame removes it, and deleting the app removes everything it ever stored in one step. There is no copy anywhere else to chase down, and no request form to fill in.
Morospin is a calculator and a notebook that gathers nothing and contacts nobody, so it poses no data risk to a child. Because no personal information is collected from any user, none is collected from children either.
If this policy ever changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Since the app collects nothing, any change is far more likely to be a clarification than a reduction in your privacy.
